This is the year where your little one will amaze you with their newfound independence and their special friendships!

At Shoreline Early Learning Center, your toddler will begin working on their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development throughout their day. Our unique program is designed to encourage children to learn and explore in a variety of hands-on, process-oriented, and exciting ways while meeting the CT Early Learning & Developmental Standards for ages 1-3.

A toddler’s view on the world is what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is mine. As children move through toddlerhood, they begin to learn everything from respect for each others and their property, to recognizing their name and identifying colors. We help to enhance language and vocabulary skills through daily activities, such as group time, and simple conversations between friends and teachers. The first friendships are very important, and help to make “school” a fun place to be!

What will my Toddler’s day look like?

Toddlers thrive with structure and daily routine. We have created our flexible daily schedule for each toddler to grow and learn at their own pace, while also focusing on their interests and journey towards meeting milestones. We strive to create an atmosphere where the children are able to begin making choices, develop self-help skills, and move from parallel play to cooperative play. While each new day brings its own activities, our daily routine looks like the following:

We also offer our ‘Extended Day’ program for our toddlers. During extended day, the toddlers will have nap time, followed by an afternoon snack, special activity, then dismissal at 3:30PM.

Potty Training

While at our program, your toddler may be ready to begin their potty training journey! We have a bathroom connected to the classroom equipped with a toilet, potty seat, and sink. We encourage all our toddlers to try and use the toilet during our diaper changing time and make the process exciting! While each toddler’s journey may be different, we strive to celebrate the success, no matter how big or small!

Daily Reporting

At Shoreline Early Learning Center, we utilize the Brightwheel App to communicate with our families! Each child has their own account where teachers log diapers/potty, snacks/meals, naps, daily activities, and can upload pictures! We also use the Brightwheel App to message with parents! Payment is also done through the Brighthwheel App.
