Our Location
Shoreline Early Learning Center at Saybrook is located at 366 Main Street in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. We are a privately owned childcare center located in the education wing of the ‘big white’ First Congregational Church. Our school has 4 classrooms- a toddler classroom and 3 preschool classrooms. We have many fun areas to play and explore including our outside fenced in black-top area and our fenced-in playground area.
Our hours are 9am-3:30pm Monday-Friday. We offer care from 9am-1pm or 9am-3:30pm.
Our Mission
At Shoreline Early Learning Center, children will be nurtured and given opportunities to grow and develop through a balance of learning and educational experiences. Our teachers are dedicated and passionate professionals who support social, emotional, physical, and academic growth while in our care. We will work closely with each parent to combine their child’s needs with an active learning environment in order to create a child that has been given the self-esteem and confidence necessary to help them succeed socially and academically.
Our Philosophy
We believe that a childcare center’s success is directly relevant to the quality of teachers it employs. The majority of our teachers have multiple years experience in the childcare field and most of our teachers are pursuing or have a college degree in Education or related fields. All of our teachers are CPR and First Aid, and medication certified. We take part in multiple workshops and trainings throughout the year. This provides a balance of knowledgeable professionals, with kind, nurturing teachers who genuinely love their career and more importantly, the children in their care.
Our Program
Children blossom and grow when they experience positive, caring relationships with their teachers and peers. We are confident that our program will offer the perfect balance of imaginative adventures and academic activities. Our teachers work together to plan developmentally appropriate activities around weekly thematic units. Included in our lesson plans are special visitors and field trips to the local library, the fire station, and more! Children learn through daily experiences; and while we follow a weekly theme, we never discourage a spontaneous lesson. We encourage children to explore their environment and make discoveries about the world around them.
