Our PreK class is a very busy class. They are focused on preparing for Kindergarten and acquiring all of the skills necessary for Kindergarten readiness.
This age group rises to the occasion when given responsibility, and actually thrives when met with it. The PreK class takes their roles of being the oldest students in the school seriously. Our ‘Book Buddies’ program is a testimony to this. The PreK class joins the toddlers once a week to read to their toddler partner. It is a priceless learning opportunity for all of the students involved.
PreK focuses on providing the tools to become good friends, caring classmates, and responsible citizens, while appreciating a love for learning, which will last a lifetime.
What will my child’s day in PreK look like?
Teachable moments are unexpected yet priceless. We take every opportunity we see, planned, but many times unplanned, to use as a time to learn. Often teachable moments are ones you don’t plan on but are priceless as far as opportunities for learning go. We are located in one of the nicest communities in Connecticut. Because of this, we are able to expose and introduce our students to many different experiences, and we take full advantage of it.

At Shoreline Early Learning Center, we utilize the Brightwheel App to communicate with our families! Each child has their own account where teachers log diapers/potty, snacks/meals, naps, daily activities, and can upload pictures! We also use the Brightwheel App to message with parents! Payment is also done through the Brighthwheel App.
